  • The Roadhouse Blues Saturdays 11-12 Noon

The Roadhouse is a true labor of love, intended to present the full range of blues music to a broad audience. I’ve often heard folks who are unfamiliar with blues note that it’s “such simple music.” Indeed, it is. But the range of blues styles is breathtaking. From the Delta to Chicago, from pre-war to jump, acoustic, electric, harps, horns – it’s difficult, if not impossible, to describe the emotions conveyed with such a simple form. Blues music is, in my mind, that last great act of defiance; a declaration to the world that, “You gave me your toughest shot and, yes, I’m still standing.” Blues lovers everywhere understand. With that in mind, I’m dedicated, via The Roadhouse, to preserving this priceless musical form, to presenting a broad range of blues each week (much of it by artists that even hardcore blues fans may not be aware of), and to promoting gleeful chair-dancing with each and every show.

  • Classic Midnight Flyer Saturdays 9-11 a.m.

The Midnight Flyer is a two-hour weekly program that features a wide variety of blues, interviews, biographies and stories about the blues. For 25 years It has been broadcast around the country. Currently it is heard every week on a small network of stations. Host Norman Davis has collected an extensive library of recorded blues, from W.C. Handy to the 21st century. He presents it in beautifully sculptured sets designed for foreground listening.

  • Classic Oldies Saturdays 6-9 p.m.

  • Classic CBS Mystery Theater Tuesday thu Saturday nights 9-10 p.m.

  • Suspense Saturdays 10-10:30 p.m.

SUSPENSE, the greatest anthology series from the ‘Golden Age of Radio’ is now back as a modern revival by John C. Alsedek & Dana Perry-Hayes of Blue Hours Productions.

Each 30-minute episode is a self-contained story, featuring a mixture of original scripts and adaptations of classic tales of mystery & the macabre by masters such as H.P. Lovecraft, Robert E. Howard, John Dickson Carr, and Bram Stoker. Recorded in Hollywood with state-of-the-art audio technology and a rotating cast that includes Adrienne Wilkinson (‘Xena’, ‘The Clone Wars’), Daamen Krall (‘The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari’), Elizabeth Gracen (‘Highlander’), and Tucker Smallwood (‘Star Trek: Enterprise’, ‘Contact’), this new version captures the feel of its predecessor without being an imitation.
